The Heroes Tournament is proud to announce a $1,000 donation to Best Buddies.
There are 7.5 million Americans with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) – and more than 200 million people with IDD worldwide. Children with IDD often grow up experiencing a life of rejection and isolation. Through Best Buddies, hundreds of thousands of people with IDD have successfully moved from segregation and desolation to a new acceptance in their family and community. In turn, Best Buddies has created a new spirit of public service for thousands of middle school, high school, college, citizen and e-Buddies volunteers that will last a lifetime.
The funds raised will directly affect the lives of those living with intellectual disabilities. Best Buddies is a non-profit organization founded by Anthony Kennedy Shriver in 1989, dedicated to helping people with intellectual disabilities form friendships and find jobs in their community. The Best Buddies Challenge events are a strong symbol of the lasting friendships and open community that Best Buddies fosters throughout their programs.
